Dassault has exceeded Rafale production plans, yet its order book remains unchanged, with France maintaining orders for 220 fighter jets

France's Dassault Aviation has announced its preliminary production results for 2025, covering the number of aircraft produced, orders received, and annual revenue. The release of these figures is a preview of the company's full annual report, scheduled for publication in early March 2026.

According to an official statement, Rafale fighter jet production in 2025 reached 26 units. This slightly exceeds the previously announced plan, under which Dassault aimed to produce 25 fighter jets.

At the same time, Dassault Aviation's firm order book for new Rafale aircraft remained unchanged through the end of 2025. Having produced 26 new Rafale fighters last year—15 for export and 11 for the French Air Force—Dassault received a firm contract for another 26 aircraft. The order from India is valued at $7.41 billion for the delivery of 26 Rafale M carrier-based aircraft.

As in 2024, France still holds firm orders for 220 Rafale fighters, and at the current production rate, the lead time for these orders is almost unchanged—8.5 years instead of 9.

Dassault is taking steps to expand production, aiming to reach 36 units per year and eventually 48–60 fighters annually, with some measures already underway. For instance, in 2025, Dassault opened a new plant, marking the first expansion of its production capacity in 50 years. In addition, due to existing and potential orders from India, fuselage component production is being established at Tata's facilities in the country.
