Russian troops shelled Avdiivka using aviation and artillery. A private house was hit, two civilians were killed, including a baby born in 2022. Two more civilians were injured.
The invaders attacked Druzhkivka with Smerch MLRS. Four apartment blocks and objects of social infrastructure were destroyed, one person was injured.
Law enforcers registered 22 violations of laws and customs of war by Russian troops. The police and the Security Service of Ukraine opened criminal proceedings under Article 438 (violation of the laws and customs of war) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
It is noted that police officers helped 467 more people to evacuate. Since the beginning of mandatory evacuation, more than 58,180 people, including 7,242 children and 2,622 people with disabilities, have left the region.
April 1. Russian troops have already killed 467 children in Ukraine and injured 944 others.
Ukraine's Prosecutor General's Office said this in a post on the messaging app Telegram.
"As of the morning of April 1, 2023, more than 1,411 children were affected in Ukraine as a result of Russia's full-scale armed aggression. According to official information from juvenile prosecutors, 467 children were killed and more than 944 sustained injuries of different degrees of severity," the post reads.
The figures are not final. Work is ongoing to determine them in areas of hostilities and the temporarily captured and liberated territories.
The most affected children were recorded in the Donetsk region - 448, Kharkiv region - 275, Kyiv region - 127, Kherson region - 94, Zaporizhzhia region - 88, Mykolaiv region - 85, Chernihiv region - 68, Luhansk region - 66, and Dnipropetrovsk region - 66.
April 1. Two civilians have been killed and three injured in Russia’s shelling of the Donetsk region over the past day.
The relevant statement was made by Donetsk Regional Military Administration Head Pavlo Kyrylenko on Telegram.
“On March 31, 2023, Russians killed two civilians in the Donetsk region, namely in Avdiivka. Three more people were injured,” Kyrylenko wrote.
Additionally, it is now impossible to count the exact number of casualties in Mariupol and Volnovakha, Kyrylenko noted.
April 1. Russian troops opened fire on the Kherson region 54 times. Three civilians were reported killed. The relevant statement was made by Kherson Regional Military Administration Head Oleksandr Prokudin on Telegram.
According to Prokudin, the enemy fired 439 projectiles with the Grad multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS), artillery and aircraft. The city of Kherson came under enemy fire five times. Twenty-seven Russian projectiles hit residential areas.
Three civilians were killed and two injured, Prokudin noted. Additionally, 91 more people were evacuated from the Kherson region’s de-occupied areas.
A reminder that, on March 31, 2023, Russian troops launched five missile strikes and 16 air strikes, and opened fire with MLRS 39 times. The enemy also used six Shahed-136 suicide drones, but they were destroyed by the Ukrainian military.
