According to the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine, Major Oleg S. Stegachev, born on June 23, 1983, served at the Engels air base (military unit 06987).
Earlier, information about the pilot was published by analysts from the OSINT agency Molfar.

Major Oleg S. Stegachev was directly involved in missile attacks on civil infrastructure and the killing of Ukrainians.
Molfar also reported that Major Stegachev participated in the war in Syria. It is noted that he had 11 crew members under his command from 2012 to 2014.
"Oleg Stegachev sustained gunshot wounds as a consequence of the attack. We are currently verifying whether he survived or not," stated the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine.
"We remind you that all war criminals will face retribution — we know your names, addresses, car numbers, usual routes, and habits," emphasizes the GUR.
The service does not disclose the details of this operation and does not specifically indicate whether it was an operation of the Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. It simply acknowledges the fact of the attack on the pilot.
