On the night of September 5, Belarusian air defense forces successfully intercepted and destroyed drones that violated the country’s airspace. The Ministry of Defense of Belarus reported the incident, noting that this marks the second time that air defense units have neutralized presumably russian Shahed drones within Belarusian territory.
According to the ministry, the violation was detected around 1:30 am, prompting a swift response. “Timely actions by the on-duty air defense forces resulted in all violating targets being destroyed,” reads the report. The exact nature of the drones is still under investigation, but it is presumed they were unmanned aerial vehicles.
