On December 10, Belarus conducted tests of new missile for its Buk-MB2 surface-to-air missile system near Ukrainian border, prompting an air raid alert in Ukraine. Belarusian Hajun monitoring group reported the event, highlighting potential regional security implications.
The tests involved the 9M318 guided missile and took place in the Olmansky swamp area, in the south of Belarus. This location lies within recently established flight restriction zone near the former 41st Aviation Training Ground, known as Merlinskyi. The site, historically used for bomb-drop training since the 1960s, has now become a testing ground for modern weaponry.
