At the Ukrainian-Nordic DIH Naval Forge 2026 conference, Ukrainian company Avarid unveiled its new MOBIDIK unmanned surface vessel (USV), a modular platform designed for a wide range of combat missions. Depending on the configuration, the vessel can carry interceptor drones, strike UAVs, missile drones, air-to-air missiles, or a large explosive payload for direct attack missions, Militarnyi reports.
According to the company, the MOBIDIK family has already completed development and is now entering the codification and serial production phase.

The platform reportedly offers up to 120 hours of endurance, a maximum range of 1,400 km, and a top speed of 65 km/h. It is also designed to operate in sea states with waves up to 1.2 meters high.
The MOBIDIK family consists of six mission-specific variants.
- The MD-1 configuration is intended to establish a maritime air defense screen by carrying five fixed-wing interceptor drones. The MD-2 performs a similar mission but instead deploys eight quadcopter-type interceptor drones.
- The MD-3 variant serves as a launch platform for the company's MORRIGAN medium-strike UAVs, designed to engage ships, coastal targets, and reconnaissance assets at medium ranges.
- The MD-4 configuration is equipped to launch a long-range jet-powered strike drone, described by the company as a missile drone intended for engaging high-value targets at strategic distances.
- The MD-5 version combines missile and gun armament for engaging both aerial and surface targets. It can reportedly carry two R-73 or AIM-9 air-to-air missiles, or equivalent weapons, together with a remotely operated weapon station armed with a Browning M2 heavy machine gun.
- The most heavily armed variant, MD-6, is configured as an assault platform. It can deploy FPV strike drones while also carrying a 300-kg warhead for attacks against large surface vessels and port infrastructure.
The unveiling reflects a broader trend in Ukrainian naval drone development toward increasingly modular and multi-role platforms. Rather than focusing solely on one-way attack missions, newer USV designs are being adapted for air defense, reconnaissance, strike operations, and the deployment of other unmanned systems.
This approach was one of the key themes discussed during closed sessions at DIH Naval Forge 2026, where military representatives emphasized the need for naval drones capable of operating across multiple domains and performing diverse missions while remaining effective in heavily contested environments.
