German company Quantum Systems, actively cooperating with Ukraine, reported establishing currently unofficial speed record for battery-powered aircraft 699 km/h. This record was established on specially created Apex Recordhunter drone, with official record certification expected in near future.
"Developed over the past year, Apex Recordhunter serves as technology demonstrator for next-generation high-speed systems. Innovations developed within this project are expected to be used for anti-aircraft drone creation," Quantum Systems announced.

Defense Express notes Apex Recordhunter is specifically record drone using range of specially created components. For example, Porsche AG subsidiary V4Smart GmbH developed special battery. Should also add that reaching 699 km/h, this drone did not achieve this speed immediately — specifically a month ago it demonstrated 650 km/h.
At the same time, officially recognized drone speed record currently belongs to Peregrine V4 from Luke and Mike Bell, South African enthusiasts.
However besides record drones, Quantum Systems implements its developments in combat drones. Specifically announced is that Ukrainian company WIY Drones, part of Quantum Systems Group, plans in near future to establish official Ukrainian maximum FPV drone speed records with 0.5 kg payload on STRILA Interceptor, as well as maximum anti-aircraft drone speed on SPYS.
Worth adding Quantum Systems works on combining anti-aircraft drone and solid-fuel booster in Jäger. Such solution enables quickly launching anti-aircraft drone to needed altitude and providing it significant acceleration, not only saving battery charge but also reducing target engagement time.
In other words, overall combination of high-speed drone creation solutions together with solid-fuel booster use genuinely appears potentially effective response to jet Shaheds.
