Ukraine's 54th Separate Artillery Brigade recently published photographs from training exercises involving the domestically produced 2S22 Bohdana self-propelled howitzer, manufactured by the Kramatorsk Heavy Machine Tool Plant (KZVV), part of NAUDI. One of the images shows a vehicle bearing the factory serial number 0426530, where 04 indicates the month of production (April), 26 the year 2026, and 530 the system's sequential production number.
This suggests that at least 530 Bohdana self-propelled guns had been produced by April 2026. However, this figure applies only to the 2S22 Bohdana, as the towed 2P22 Bohdana-BG uses a separate serial numbering sequence.

Based on previously reported production rates of around 30 self-propelled guns per month, the total number of Bohdana SPGs produced may already be approaching 600 units. Production of the Bohdana-BG is believed to be lower, with earlier reports indicating a rate of approximately 10 systems per month.
As of September 2025, Ukraine had reportedly produced 345 Bohdana SPGs and another 100 Bohdana-BG guns. If production rates have remained unchanged since then, the number of Bohdana-BG systems built could now be approaching 190 to 200 units.

Combining both variants, total production of Bohdana artillery systems may already be nearing 800 units. If current manufacturing rates continue, the 1,000-unit milestone could be reached as early as this autumn.
It is also worth noting the Marta towed 155 mm artillery gun, which uses a shorter 39-caliber barrel instead of the 52-caliber barrel found on both Bohdana variants. However, it remains unclear how many Marta guns have been produced and whether serial production is currently underway.

These estimates should be treated as approximate, since actual output depends heavily on procurement volumes and production orders. Another critical factor in expanding Ukraine's artillery capabilities is the availability of ammunition and propellant charges. In this regard, plans were recently announced to establish joint production of long-range 155 mm artillery shells with Norway.
It is worth recalling that reports emerged in early March about the potential production of Bohdana systems in Poland. At the same time, it became known that by early March 2026, combined production of Bohdana SPGs and Bohdana-BG towed guns had already reached approximately 600 units.
