For approximately half year now, Ukraine's Defense Forces use British Nyan jet drones from Callen-Lenz, owned by BAE Systems, for strikes on russia.
Times reports this relying on own sources, at same time this information is confirmed by whole range of other British publications. Overall emphasized is that if previously London tried not to publicize Armed Forces' use of their drones, especially for strikes on russian territory, now these political self-restrictions no longer exist.

Nyan strike jet drone, whose characteristics were published by company itself, is manufactured using stealth technology. Its wingspan is 2.9 meters, takeoff weight over 75 kg, of which up to 20 kg is warhead or other payload. Application range is over 250 km. Launch is conducted using catapult.
Among drone features, Callen-Lenz declares capability to operate in satellite navigation absence conditions, as well as effectiveness proven in real combat conditions. These drones in February 2026 were also ordered for £4.99 million, approximately €5.8 million, for British armed forces.
Among Nyan application variants indicated are not only strike tasks but also use as decoy targets for activating air defense assets. Against this backdrop worth recalling Britain supplied, and recently transferred to Ukraine all intellectual property rights for Stone Cloak EW system for suppressing air defense assets, installed on drones.
Also important to note London announced transferring 150,000 drones of all types during 2026. At same time Nyan is far from only long-range drone transferred by Britain. British publication mentions Ukraine uses unnamed British drone for strikes at ranges up to 960 km.
At same time, some announced characteristics quite enable assessing what to expect from it. Specifically indicated is its launch is conducted from catapult. This already directly may indicate its limited dimensions and takeoff mass. Because for heavy drones capable of covering approximately 1,000 km with relatively powerful warhead, launch using jet booster is usually used, or they take off using landing gear. Therefore from this secretive long-range British drone, unique characteristics should hardly be expected.
Recall Britain has for years been supplying drones to Ukraine, including jet ones. For example, in early 2024 rashists began complaining they are being hit by Banshee Jet 80+ jet drones from QinetiQ. Their use at range of approximately 200 km was recorded, but warhead weight of these drones is only 7 kg.
