The achievement was reported on the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine's page on Facebook.
According to the Ukrainian Border Guard Service, russian forces are deliberately operating ZALA Z-20 reconnaissance drones at the highest possible altitudes.

russian forces appear to be relying on Ukrainian forces being unable to reach the drones. However, Ukrainian border guards proved otherwise. Operators of the STING system from the 105th Border Detachment of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine successfully intercepted the target at an altitude of 6,858 meters.
This is currently the highest confirmed altitude at which an enemy drone has been intercepted by a Ukrainian unit.
"While it's gratifying to hold the record, it's even more gratifying to see Ukrainian technology and the skill of its operators raising the bar day by day," the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine noted.
The previous record was set by operators from the Lasar's Group strike UAV unit of the Ukrainian National Guard, who shot down a russian ZALA Z-20 reconnaissance drone at an altitude of 6,400 meters.
The enemy used the drone for aerial reconnaissance and target detection at a distance of more than 100 kilometers. This achievement was reported only recently, but the record has already been broken.
