Ukraine's Security Service has announced another long-range drone operation targeting key elements of russia's fuel and military infrastructure, striking oil refineries and radar systems deep inside russian territory during the night of August 1.
The Security Service said the strikes were conducted in line with tasks set by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to systematically degrade russia's ability to sustain its war effort. The operation combined attacks on strategic energy infrastructure with strikes against air surveillance assets.

One of the main targets was a major oil refining cluster in Ufa, the capital of russia's Republic of Bashkortostan, approximately 1,600 kilometers from Ukraine's state border. Long-range drones reportedly struck infrastructure belonging to three refineries: Bashneft-UNPZ, Bashneft-Novoil, and Bashneft-Ufaneftekhim.
The three facilities are part of the Bashneft group and together form one of the largest oil refining hubs in russia. According to the Security Service, their combined processing capacity exceeds 23 million tons of crude oil annually. The refineries produce gasoline, diesel fuel, aviation kerosene, lubricants, and other petroleum products, many of which are used to support russian military operations.
In a parallel operation, Ukrainian drones also targeted russian air defense infrastructure in Krasnodar Krai. The agency reported successful strikes against three Podlyot-K1 radar stations and one Kasta-2E2 radar. These systems are designed to detect and track aerial targets, providing early warning and supporting the country's integrated air defense network.
