The Navy of the Armed Forces of Ukraine hit enemy facilities on the Syvash self-elevating drilling rig in the Black Sea. The russians used the rig to deploy surveillance equipment and control strike drones

According to this report, on the night of August 8, the Ukrainian military conducted an operation in the Black Sea and hit an enemy technical observation post that was deployed on the Syvash self-elevating drilling rig. The operation was carried out jointly by units of the Navy, the Security Service of Ukraine and other components of the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
The Sivash drilling rig is located in the area of the Golitsyn gas condensate field in the Black Sea. The russian military used the rig to deploy technical means that provided situational surveillance in the Black Sea.
In particular, the equipment installed on the rig was used by the occupiers to control strike UAVs, as well as to guide and adjust strikes on cities in the South of Ukraine. With the help of the reconnaissance equipment, the russian military could detect the movement of Ukrainian surface and aerial mens.
According to the Navy of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the rig was also used by the enemy to deploy personnel. In particular, elite units of russian special forces were based on the Sivash drilling rig. In addition, weapons were deployed there, including portable missile systems and other equipment.
The russians used these means to counter Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles as well as uncrewed surface vehicles. That is, the installation was actually integrated by the occupiers into the military control and defense system in the Black Sea area.
