Ukraine's 44th Brigade has released footage highlighting an effective counter-battery operation against russian artillery positions. The video demonstrates how Ukrainian forces systematically tracked down and destroyed multiple enemy long-range guns despite extensive concealment efforts.
The published footage focuses on strikes carried out by Ukrainian attack drones targeting russian 2A65 Msta-B 152 mm towed howitzers. These artillery systems remain one of russia's primary long-range fire support weapons and are widely used to shell Ukrainian military positions and frontline settlements.
According to the brigade, russian crews attempted to hide the guns in a variety of locations to reduce the risk of detection. Some of the artillery pieces were concealed inside tree lines and covered with branches, while others were positioned between buildings in populated areas, taking advantage of surrounding structures for camouflage.
Despite these efforts, Ukrainian reconnaissance successfully located each firing position. The footage shows attack drones striking the hidden artillery pieces with high precision.
Some of the Msta-B howitzers were destroyed with a single drone strike, underscoring the accuracy of Ukrainian operators. Other targets proved more resilient and required several attack drones before being completely neutralized, reflecting the varying degree of protection and the complexity of individual engagements.
