Ukraine and Belgium have agreed on the transfer of three F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine by the end of 2026, with the aircraft to be delivered through an accelerated procedure

Ukraine and Belgium have agreed on the transfer of three F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine by the end of 2026, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

Ukraine will receive the aircraft through an accelerated procedure. The arrangement is intended to provide additional fighter aircraft to Ukraine as it continues to strengthen its ability to counter russian air attacks.

The President did not provide further details on the exact aircraft involved, their configuration, or the timeline for their delivery beyond the commitment to transfer three F-16 jets before the end of 2026.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy also said that Ukraine has already received urgent supplies of F-16 ammunition from Belgium and other partners, including Spain. These deliveries are intended to support the operation of the aircraft already in Ukrainian service.

"When russia is increasing its escalation every day, it is necessary to add capabilities to shoot down aerial targets and protect people," Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

As Defense Express previously reported, Ukraine's Vyriy Industries has battlefield-tested SLAVIC tactical reconnaissance UAV, designed as a domestic alternative to Chinese and Western platforms such as Mavic drones.
