Ukrainian forces struck several russian military and industrial targets during the night of September 6, 2026, according to Ukraine's General Staff. The reported strikes targeted an oil refinery, an airfield, a radar station and air defense systems in russia.

One of the main targets was the Ryazan Oil Refinery in russia's Ryazan region. A fire was reported on the facility's territory following the strike, although the General Staff did not provide details on the extent of the damage.

The refinery is described as one of russia's largest oil-processing facilities. It has an annual processing capacity of approximately 17 million tonnes of crude oil and produces gasoline, diesel fuel, aviation fuel and other petroleum products.

Ukrainian forces also struck the Rostov-on-Don airfield in russia's Rostov region. A fire was reported in the area of the facility following the attack.

Additional russian air defense assets in Rostov region were targeted. Ukrainian forces struck the Podlet radar station as well as two Pantsir-S1 surface-to-air missile and gun systems.

The Podlet radar and Pantsir-S1 systems are components of russia's air defense network, which is used to detect and engage aerial threats. Their reported targeting could therefore affect russia's ability to protect military and strategic facilities in the region.

As Defense Express previously reported, Ukrainian National Guard's Lazar's Group destroyed russian Zhitel electronic warfare system located 55 kilometers deep in the enemy's rear using domestically produced LASAR bomber drones.
