The operation targeted infrastructure belonging to the russian Navy base in Novorossiysk. Ukrainian intelligence also reported a strike on the Admiral Essen (Project 11356) warship.
The strike caused a fire on the deck superstructure of the Admiral Essen frigate. The Ukrainian side did not provide further details on the extent of damage to the vessel.
The Admiral Essen is a Project 11356 frigate operated by the russian Navy. One of the key capabilities highlighted by Ukrainian intelligence is the ship's ability to carry Kalibr cruise missiles.
Russia has repeatedly used Kalibr missiles in strikes against Ukraine, including attacks targeting Ukrainian civilian infrastructure.
