Ukrainian forces carried out a series of coordinated strikes overnight on July 5, targeting a key russian military air base in temporarily occupied Crimea alongside critical logistics infrastructure and ammunition storage sites across multiple occupied regions.
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, one of the primary targets was the Hvardiiske air base in temporarily occupied Crimea. The facility is considered one of russia's most important military airfields on the peninsula, serving both tactical aviation and naval aviation units.

The airfield plays a significant role in supporting russian combat operations, functioning as a base for operational aircraft, maintenance activities, logistics, and the preparation of combat sorties. Any disruption to its operations could complicate russia's ability to sustain air missions over southern Ukraine and the Black Sea region.
In addition to the strike on the air base, Ukrainian forces targeted two road bridges used by russian forces. The first spans the Hruzkyi Yalanchyk River near Huselnykove, while the second crosses the Kalmius River near Staromarivka in the temporarily occupied part of Donetsk region.
According to the Ukrainian military, both bridges are important components of russia's logistical network, enabling the movement of troops, weapons, ammunition, and other military supplies. Damaging such crossings is intended to slow russian reinforcement efforts and increase pressure on already stretched supply routes.
The operation also included strikes against three russian ammunition depots located near Makiivka in Donetsk region, Dovzhansk in Luhansk region, and Preobrazhenka in Kherson region. Eliminating ammunition stockpiles remains one of Ukraine's priorities, as it directly reduces russia's ability to sustain artillery fire and offensive operations.
