Ukraine's Unmanned Systems Forces, in coordination with the Security Service of Ukraine, carried out a large-scale strike operation against russian special forces facilities in temporarily occupied Donetsk region, reportedly killing dozens of personnel linked to the Sever-Akhmat unit.
The operation was announced on the evening of May 20 by the commander of Ukraine's Unmanned Systems Forces, Major Robert Madyar Brovdi. According to him, the strike was prepared by the Deep Strike Center and executed jointly by the 1st Center and the Security Service.

Ukrainian forces targeted a facility in the temporarily occupied city of Snizhne that reportedly served as a training and production center connected to russia's Academy of Rocket and Artillery Sciences. The site was also being used by the Sever-Akhmat 78th Regiment, a unit operating as part of russia's 42nd Division.
According to preliminary Ukrainian estimates, 65 cadets were killed in the strike, along with the center's commander, identified as Lieutenant Colonel Buryi, who was described as a doctor of the Academy of Rocket and Artillery Sciences. Ukrainian officials added that the number of wounded personnel is still being clarified.
Robert Brovdi stated that the attack involved 11 planned middle-strike drone impacts during the night of May 20. The strikes reportedly used munitions equipped with 100-kilogram warheads, indicating an operation aimed not only at personnel elimination but also at destroying hardened infrastructure and stored equipment.
The primary target was a two-story complex covering approximately 2,484 square meters. The building housed drone assembly operations, warhead production for unmanned systems, and living quarters for russian personnel stationed at the facility.
Secondary explosions followed the initial strikes due to ammunition stored in the basement levels of the complex. Such chain detonations are often seen as indicators that military storage facilities or production areas were successfully hit.
