Ukraine has announced an order for four batteries of European SAMP/T NG surface-to-air missile systems. They will be funded through the 2026 and 2027 tranches of the Ukraine Support Loan (USL).
In addition, seven radars—specifically, five GM400s, one GF300, and one Kronos—will be included in the 2026 delivery schedules under the same program. To fill the air defense gap, France will lease two older SAMP/T batteries, which will eventually have to be returned.

The SAMP/T NG systems will be deployed in phases beginning in 2027, following their delivery and certification. The first GF300 radar, part of this air defense system, will be delivered to the Ukrainian military as early as 2026.
Five GM400 radars will be delivered to Ukraine by the end of 2027. In addition, Italy and France are expected to approve the localization of Aster 30 missile production by the end of 2026, with production to begin in the shortest possible timeframe.

From Defense Express we would like to note that the selection of radars mentioned is rather unusual, as it includes both the GF300—which is part of the French SAMP/T NG system—and the Kronos—which is part of the Italian system. Therefore, it is possible that the first systems delivered to Ukraine will be based on the two prototype batteries that France and Italy received earlier this year.
This approach would ensure that the systems are delivered to the Ukrainian military immediately after testing is completed. As a result, there would be no need to wait for each component to be manufactured from scratch.
Another point in favor of this theory is the mixed list of radars from variants intended for different countries, as well as the specific mention of a phased delivery schedule following certification. For example, the GF300 completed factory testing back in March 2025, which could explain why it is scheduled for delivery in 2026.

However, the fact that the radars were listed separately also raises the possibility that they are an additional order beyond the standard battery configuration. In that case, "certification" could refer to routine factory testing, and phased deliveries would help speed up the process. However, this is merely speculation.
The SAMP/T NG air defense system will be equipped with the Aster 30 B1NT anti-aircraft missile, which has received a whole range of improvements designed to enhance its effectiveness in intercepting ballistic missiles. Although it has been publicly stated that Ukraine will be the first operator of the SAMP/T NG, the order for these systems was placed by another country—Denmark. It will therefore be interesting to see how the deliveries will be coordinated, as transferring the prototype batteries to Ukraine would seem to be the most prudent way to ensure timely delivery.
