Ukraine's 15th Brigade has destroyed russian Buk-M3 medium-range surface-to-air missile system, eliminating one of the more advanced air defense assets deployed by russian forces.
The brigade announced the strike on social media, releasing combat footage that captures the operation. According to the unit, the destroyed Buk-M3 system had an estimated value of approximately $45 million.

The published video shows the methodical nature of the operation. Ukrainian reconnaissance operators first detected the air defense system while it remained concealed.
Rather than striking immediately, they continued monitoring the target until the vehicle moved out of its hiding position, creating a favorable opportunity for a successful attack.
Once the system left its cover, Ukrainian forces launched a precision strike that destroyed the system.
The Buk-M3 is the latest variant of the Buk family of medium-range air defense systems. It is designed to engage aircraft, helicopters, cruise missiles, drones, and certain ballistic targets, providing mobile air defense coverage for russian ground formations.
Due to its relatively limited production numbers and high cost, confirmed losses of Buk-M3 systems remain uncommon.
