The United Kingdom has announced a new €300 million defense package to support the delivery of 16 modern aircraft to Ukraine in cooperation with Sweden.
British Prime Minister Keir Starmer revealed the initiative during a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Kyiv. According to Keir Starmer, the funding will help provide 16 modern aircraft designed to enhance Ukraine's ability to protect its airspace against continued russian missile and drone attacks.

The announcement comes as Ukraine continues to seek additional air assets to counter increasingly complex aerial threats and support broader modernization efforts across its armed forces. While no specific aircraft type was identified, the British-Swedish cooperation suggests continued coordination among European allies to expand Ukraine's military capabilities.
During the talks, the two leaders discussed the battlefield situation, the development of Ukraine's long-range strike capabilities, and the next stages of international defense assistance. The meeting highlighted London's commitment to maintaining military support as the war enters another demanding phase.
Volodymyr Zelensky thanked the United Kingdom for its consistent backing throughout the full-scale invasion, noting that total British assistance has now exceeded £11 billion. Of that amount, nearly £8 billion has been allocated to military aid, making the UK one of Ukraine's largest defense partners.
