Roketsan and Baykar conducted the first test launch of the 300 ER aeroballistic missile, which is expected to double the long-range capabilities of the Turkish Air Force

Turkish companies Roketsan and Baykar conducted tests of the new 300 ER aeroballistic missile, which has a range of around 500 km. The first test launch was conducted from the Akıncı reconnaissance and strike UAV.

The video shows the separation of the 300 ER, ignition of its solid-fuel engine, and the missile's climb with heading correction. At the same time, no attempt was made to hit the target, which is standard practice for the first launches of new missile.

The missile reportedly traveled more than 250 km during the flight. At the same time, the 300 ER, which has a launch weight of about 900 kg—including a warhead weighing approximately 150 kg—is designed to have a range of 500 km. It should be noted that target acquisition during the terminal phase is provided by a TV seeker.

These tests took place simultaneously with the launch of another UAV-122air-to-ground missile, which has a range of up to 50 km. Its previous launch from the Akıncı was conducted a few days ago and also demonstrated the missile's combat effectiveness and accuracy. At that time, the 300 ER was mounted on the pylon but was not launched.

The pace at which Turkiye is currently testing Roketsan's new aviation weapons could be described as extremely rapid. After all, the 300 ER was only unveiled as a mock-up in 2025.

It is planned that the 300 ER will be carried not only by the Akıncı UAV, but also by the F-16. This will significantly enhance the Turkish Air Force's ability to engage targets at long ranges.

Currently, the SOM cruise missile, with a range of over 250 km, is the longest-range weapon for Turkish F-16s. At the same time, the 300 ER not only has twice the range, but also requires an air defense system capable of missile defense to intercept it.

From the Defense Express side, we urges you to join a fundraising for what is already working: One United Fundraiser: Fundraising by the Serhiy Prytula Charity Foundation for interceptor drones.
