The Parliament of Croatia to Consider the Issue of Providing Military Training For Ukrainian Servicemen

The government of Croatia has sent to the parliament a draft decision regarding the participation of the Croatian military personnel in the EU mission to train Ukrainian fighters

A discussion and a decision must take place in the Croatian Parliament, mil.in.ua reports.

The military program is called European Union Assistance Mission Ukraine (EUMAM Ukraine), which was created by the Decision of the Council of the EU in order to promote the strengthening of the military potential of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The mission will last two years and will be carried out on the territory of the EU member states that will participate in the mission.

The EU member states send military personnel of their armed forces to the headquarters of the mission for the training groups.

Minister of Defense of Croatia Mario Banožić explained that by participating in this mission, Croatia will confirm its commitment to support international security.

It is proposed that up to 80 Croatian military personnel participate in the EU mission, which will be carried out on the territory of a member state of the European Union in 2022, 2023 and 2024, with the possibility of rotation.

Also, to implement this mission, up to 100 Ukrainian military personnel can undergo training on the territory of Croatia itself.

Financial funds for the implementation of this Resolution are provided by the Ministry of Defense in the State Budget of Croatia.
