Ukrainian police safely dismantle 280 kg warhead in a plowed field

In Sumy region, the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Service of the Main Directorate of the National Police successfully neutralized the warhead of russian Kh-59 air-launched missile yesterday. The missile, downed by Ukrainian forces, failed to detonate upon impact.

Residents of nearby village alerted authorities through the emergency hotline after discovering the missile in a plowed field.

“Upon arriving at the site and inspecting the crash area, we identified the debris as parts of russian Kh-59 air-to-surface missile. Its warhead, weighing over 280 kilograms, did not detonate, so it was neutralized on-site. Afterward, we transported it to a safe location for destruction by detonation,” Ihor Cherniak, head of the EOD Service, said.
