The destruction of Svet-KU systems is a setback for russia’s electronic warfare capabilities and a sign of Ukraine’s growing military prowess

Ukrainian forces have destroyed a third rare russian electronic warfare system called RB-636 Svet-KU in less than a year, according to the South Operational Command. The first system was captured by Ukrainian troops in March 2022, while the second was destroyed in August.

The Svet-KU system is designed to suppress satellite navigation channels, which can be used to guide drones and other weapons. Russia has been using electronic warfare systems extensively in its war against Ukraine, in an attempt to disrupt Ukrainian communications and operations.
