The russian company S7 Group conducted another test flight of its Spectra PV-10 Tango trainer, which made its first flight powered by a russian-made engine, according to the company's press office. This aircraft is being developed in collaboration with the Chaplygin Siberian Scientific Research Institute Of Aviation.
The first flight with the new engine reportedly lasted only a short time, with the aircraft making a circuit before landing. It is reported that certification tests have already begun. No other details of the tests have been disclosed.

The aircraft is now equipped with the APD-520 Lider engine developed by S7 Group. Before its first flight, the engine underwent a series of ground tests to verify its reliability, the accuracy of its operating parameters, and other characteristics.
At the same time, the Spectra PV-10 Tango demonstration aircraft made its first flight two years ago. At the time, the aircraft was powered by a 200-horsepower, six-cylinder ULPower 520iS engine developed by Belgian company ULPower. However, plans were already underway to replace it with a domestically developed engine, which was undergoing testing at the time.
According to russian sources, the engine is essentially a copy of the Belgian model, developed through reverse engineering and featuring identical specifications.
The Spectra PV-10 Tango is a four-seat training aircraft designed for the initial training of civil and general aviation pilots, as well as private flying. It is not intended for military use.
This aircraft has a maximum takeoff weight of 1,150 kg and a range of 1,100 km. It is 8.2 m long and has a wingspan of 12 m. It can reach a speed of 245 km/h.
