According to own sources of Defense Express, the enemy has begun using Su-24MR aircrafts to conduct reconnaissance.
In particular, on May 24, 2022, the russians used at least one Su-24MR aircraft from the 4th separate reconnaissance squadron of the 6th Air Force and Air Defense of the Western Military District of the russian federation. This Su-24MR took off from Shatalovo airfield in Smolensk region, the route of the plane ran along the state border of Ukraine, while the russians tried to conduct air reconnaissance and detect fire positions of Ukraine's air defense systems.

But during the next two days, May 25-26, the racists used 6 to 8 Su-24MR aircraft to conduct reconnaissance in Ukraine. According to preliminary data, four reconnaissance planes from the 4th Separate Reconnaissance Squadron of the 6th Air Force and Air Defense Air Defense Squadron and four more from the Mixed Aviation Regiment of the 4th Air Force and Air Defense Forces of the Southern Military District were used to carry out the tasks.
These Su-24MRs were used to reconnoiter our positions in the Siversky, Slobozhansky, Donetsk and Tavriya operating areas.
The Su-24MR equipment aircraft allows reconnaissance to a depth of up to 120 kilometers. According to The Military Balance 2021, russia have up to 50 Su-24MR reconnaissance aircrafts at their disposal.
