Following a "historical" meeting of defense ministers of more than 40 countries in Ramstein, the US steps up establishing a special control center that will manage the joint efforts of the world to help Ukraine stop the unprovoked russian aggression

The Department of Defense has established a control center to coordinate shipments and “streamline the delivery” of military assistance to Ukraine provided by Ukraine's partners, a senior US defense official told CNN.

The EUCOM Control Center of Ukraine, or ECCU, is based at US European Command headquarters in Stuttgart, Germany. The control center, along with US personnel, includes staff from 15 other supporting nations in Stuttgart, the official said. The control center will also manage the network of more than 40 partner and allied nations that met in Germany earlier on April 26 and are providing assistance to Ukraine.

"One of Russia's odd demands at the start of the war was the 'full demilitarization' of Ukraine. After yesterday's epochal meeting of 40 defense ministers, I have bad news for Russia. Capacity, speed, simplified logistics, an expanded range of weapons – Ukraine is strengthening," commented on the news Mykhailo Podoliak, a member of the Ukrainian negotiation group with Russia.

This new group of allies will meet once a month, US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin said at the first meeting on Ramstein air base earlier this Tuesday. Speaking to the defense ministers of 40 world states, he pledged to “help Ukraine win the fight against Russia’s unjust invasion and to build up Ukraine’s defenses for tomorrow’s challenges”, The Guardian reports.

Lloyd Austin said he wanted officials to leave the meeting “with a common and transparent understanding of Ukraine’s near-term security requirements because we’re going to keep moving heaven and earth so that we can meet them."

"We don’t have any time to waste. We’ve got to move at the speed of war," US defense minister stressed.

As Defense Express previously reported, the White House appointed a three-star retired general Terry Wolf to manage the process of providing constantly growing military assistance to Ukraine.

Also, not only the US but Germany makes another step toward Ukraine after the Ramstein meeting by approving the supply of Gepard anti-aircraft tanks (anti-aircraft cannon tank Cheetah, or better known as the Flakpanzer Gepard) to Ukraine.
