“Approximately 10-15 thousand personnel of the security forces of the Republic of Belarus are ready to participate in the so-called special military operation of the Russian Federation. First of all, due to the appeal of a high salary,” Oleksii Hromov said.

In addition, according to the Brigadier General, over 9,000 Russian soldiers and a significant amount of military equipment are currently stationed on the territory of Belarus.

“Units of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation with a total number of over 9 thousand people and more than 250 pieces of weapons and military equipment from the 2nd Motorized Rifle Division of the 1st Tank Army of the Western Military District continue being deployed as part of the deployment of a joint regional group of troops of the so-called Union State on the territory of the Republic of Belarus”, Hromov shared.

According to him, the Russians are mainly stationed in the areas of the Belarusian “Obuz-Lesnovskyi”, “Lepelskyi”, “Losvido”, and “Osypovichi” training grounds.

The Brigadier General also mentioned that at the border of the Belgorod region, Russian troops are installing mine barriers to prevent the penetration of Ukrainian subversive groups.

The General Staff does not rule out provocations in this direction. Also, the possible intrusion of SRGs from the territory of the Russian Federation and Belarus is not excluded.

It should be noted, recently, Ukraine started installing a reinforced concrete fence on the border with Belarus. The fence is being constructed on Ukrainian territory 10-15 meters away from the interstate border. The construction consists of concrete slabs.
