UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson urged more military support for Ukraine as it battles Russian forces, including sending advanced weapons, like MLRS

According to interview with Bloomberg, Boris Johnson said that Russian leader Vladimir Putin is completely not to be trusted. "How can you deal with a crocodile when it’s in the middle of eating your left leg? The guy’s completely not to be trusted," Johnson said when asked about the prospect of holding talks with Putin.

According to him, today the world should focus on delivering the MLRS to Ukraine, which will enable the country to defend itself against Russian artillery. "It's absolutely vital we continue to support the Ukrainians militarily," he said.

At the same time, Johnson also ruled out using the British military to help clear mines from Ukrainian ports, saying only that the UK would work with international partners to help Ukraine do it.

President Volodymyr Zelensky said on May 8 that he expected a decision from the world on the transfer of American multiple rocket launchers to Ukraine.

At the same time, Andriy Yermak, head of the Ukrainian President's Office, has called on Western partners to provide Ukraine with U.S.-made multiple launch rocket systems as soon as possible. He made a respective appeal on Telegram.

According to Yermak, the United States continues to discuss the transfer of MLRS to Ukraine. Referring to CNN, he said that U.S. partners could hand over advanced missile systems to Ukraine if they make a respective decision next week. "We are grateful for artillery and other assistance, but modern MLRS will help us stop the Russian invasion and gain a tangible superiority at the front. We needed them yesterday, as well as air defense systems, tanks and other weapons we ask for in order to stop the Russian offensive and liberate the temporarily occupied territories. The food crisis can be resolved by liberating our land and unblocking ports. […] Decisions need to be made faster. We can't waste the time for which Ukraine pays with people's lives and destroyed cities," Yermak said.

Besides, Also Mykhailo Podolyak, adviser to the Head of the President's Office, today on Twitter posting a video of Russian Solntsepek flamethrower system performance.

“This is Russian Solntsepek flamethrower system. Some partners avoid giving the necessary weapons because of fear of escalation. Escalation, really? Russia already uses the heaviest non-nuclear weapons against Ukraine, burning people alive. Maybe it's time to respond and give us MLRS?” Podolyak said on Twitter.
