A guy from Kyiv’s Borshchahivka won’t be surprised by a tank: Defenders of Kyiv are being trained to give a decent rebuff to the enemy

Following the onset of Russia’s all-out war against Ukraine, thousands of Ukrainians have volunteered to join the Armed Forces and to fight for the freedom and independence of our state. People who are given priority for joining the Armed Forces of Ukraine now are war veterans and persons with relevant skills, knowledge and experience. They are currently undergoing intensive combat training, which includes special training in conducting combat operations using simulated ammunition, laser-based Tactical Engagement system, the Lasertag, firearm shooting training, primary medical training, and all the other critical skills needed in combat. One of the elements of this training aims to make soldiers more psychologically fit for combat and includes training for combating armor

Recruits are being trained in destroying not only enemy personnel, but also armored combat vehicles used by the Russian occupiers.

An important part of psychological training is shown in the video where trainees are trained to deal with enemy tanks. A man, in full combat gear, is tasked to take a position in the trench and watch the movement of a tank.

Immediately after the tank passes over the trench, the soldier must bend down, then turn around and quickly throw a mock-up anti-tank grenade at its rear where the engine compartment is located. The exercise aimes to help defeat the fear of tanks and other armored combat vehicles. It’s imperative that the soldier act without delay once the tank crosses the trench.

Most of the guys shown here have combat experience. Some of them had previous training of that sort and so they keep calm when encountering heavy vehicles. Those who have no such experience quickly learn to the level of their more seasoned counterparts. They are definitely ready to go to battle next to their armored fighting vehicles and to destroy armored vehicles of the enemy.

After all, who but us, residents of Kyiv and nearby towns will defend our land and Ukraine, - says veteran call sign "Borshchahivka", and adds wishes to the Russian occupiers, using obscene language.
