Slovakia becomes fourth potential Skyfox customer after U.S., Canada and Serbia as Brazil refused even to send scrapped russian Mi-35s to Armed Forces

On one hand, one Ukrainian politician stated he supposedly arranged with Brazilian side for delivery of 24 Super Tucano aircraft, which is still considered iconic.

On other hand, another possible customer for L-39NG Skyfox, previously proposed to Ukraine for countering all Shahed types, may already be Slovakia. After U.S., Canada and possibly even Serbia.

If conducting comparison only from formal side, meaning only by tactical-technical characteristics, one can find equal number of arguments both in favor of Brazilian Super Tucano and Czech L-39NG. For use both as Shahed interceptor and as new training aircraft for Armed Forces Air Force.

Czech Skyfox has jet engine enabling speeds up to 907 km/h, which is important in context of preparing our pilots for modern Western combat aircraft (naturally with jet engines). But here too counterargument may exist that Brazilian Super Tucano flight hour cost may be lower, thanks to using turboprop engine.

However this text's author deliberately avoided comparison by specific numerical indicators, outlining only general structure of possible discussion. Since we all currently find ourselves in situation where advantages of one or another weapons sample should be judged not only by characteristics but also by actual availability level.

And here situation structure looks as follows. Brazil genuinely seeks potential Super Tucano buyers on European arms market, reciprocal interest was shown by Poland and Latvia, while Portugal received its first A-29Ns in late 2025.

But problem is Brazil specifically refuses to sell Ukraine weapons due to its Russophile sentiments under any schemes, even when U.S. acted as intermediary. For illustration recall 2023 stories, when Brazil refused to deliver us even decommissioned Mi-35s once purchased from russia, which will now rot as scrap metal, or when it refused to deliver shells for Gepard and Leopard 1.

Against this backdrop, Czech L-39NG Skyfox may be more realistic option for protecting our sky. Even with adjustment for current customer queue for this aircraft, and that currently unknown whether separate order exists for Ukraine for this aviation equipment delivery.
