The russian army entered Ukraine having dress uniform in their sacks additionaly to camouflated uniform and with a mood that they would be greeted almost with flowers and happy faces. Instead, the Russian invaders received a decent rebuff - instead of the easy "walk" that the Russian occupying army was expecting, the enemy encountered powerful resistance.
The Defense Forces of Ukraine did not yet have such equipment as M777 howitzers, modern self-propelled guns or HIMARS missile systems, but the defenders of Ukraine heroically showed the occupiers that they could only dream of "capturing Kyiv in three days". It is quite natural that as a result of this, at the beginning of April, a number of northern regions of Ukraine were liberated by the Defense Forces of Ukraine.

An accurate shot of the anti-crash missile complex "Neptune"
The flagship of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Navy, project 1164 Moskva missile cruiser, was sunk by two missiles fired from the RK-360MC Neptun anti-ship missile system.
The cruiser was hit in the evening of April 13, and on April 14, the kremlin had to admit that the "russian warship" had sunk.
Liberation of Zmiiny Island
Deoccupation of an island in the Black Sea with the help of Bayraktar TB2 and even "floating batteries" is an example of clear pragmatic planning by the Armed Forces of Ukraine with maximum results.
As a result of the successful actions of the Ukrainian military, the russians were forced to make a "gesture of goodwill" and flee the island. The Ukrainian military returned the Ukrainian flag to the island on July 4, and the de-occupation of the island allowed navigation through the Bystre estuary to be opened.
The liberation of the island became possible due to efficient operational decisions, and the combination of Western military aid with Ukrainian domestic defense industry capabilities – find the detailes here.
Counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Kharkiv Oblast and Kherson Oblast
Another example of well-planned operations, as a result of which a significant part of the Kharkiv region was liberated from the Russian occupying forces, and the group of occupiers on the right bank of Ukraine was forced to make another "gesture of goodwill" under the blows of HIMARS MLRS and Ukrainian long-range artillery.
Long-range strikes by the Armed Forces of Ukraine on airfields of the russian federation
For a while, the occupiers felt safe both in Crimea and at their remote airfields - however, this feeling of "security" turned out to be temporary.
Of course, in this context, first of all, we would like to mention the effective, high-precision strike on the Saki airbase of the russian Aerospace Forces in the temporarily occupied Crimea near Novofedorivka, which caused the greatest simultaneous losses of the russian federation in aviation during its existence.
And finally, we would like to note the strikes on the Engels strategic aviation airfield, from which russian Tu-95MS take off to bomb Ukrainian cities – it was during the strike on December 5 that the russian federation lost a Tu-95 for the first time in combat.
Defense Express also reported on How Many Tu-95MS Aircraft Could Be Destroyed After the Second Attack on the Engels Airfield.
